Torah case, also called torah scroll case or sephardic torah case, Is a class for Torah scrolls according to the custom of Sephardic communities. Different from a Etz Chaim used by Ashkenaz communities.

Unlike a Etz Chaim lying on a reclining stage, the Sefer Torah scroll stands on the stage. Therefore, the stage in Ashkenazi synagogues is slightly sloped, and in Sephardic synagogues the stage is straight.

The case for the Sephardic Torah scroll looks like a round wooden box with a crown and pomegranates in most cases or a special motif like a beit hamikdash in the more modern models.
The box opens from the middle of the case into the shape of two semicircles, which at the center of each semicircle have a etz chaim on which the parchment of the Torah scroll is stitched, to the right the beginning of the Parashat Bereshit and to the left the Parashat Debarim.

In the past, when a holiday was coming and there was only one Torah scroll in the synagogue, the gabbai had to manually scroll the Torah scroll until it reached the desired portion. This is inconvenient and also damages the parchment and letters that can be erased as a result of scrolling pressure, with us you can get all models with a fast and beautiful special stop made of glass and hidden grids.

Also, the weight of the Torah scroll case is an important issue, the weight of the box can also reach 20 pounds and even more, and after adding the parchment weight, the Torah scroll becomes very heavy and the people in the synagogue prefer not to take it out of the Holy Ark. That is why we use strong yet lightweight materials so that the box weight does not exceed 15 pounds.
The exterior design can be selected in the examples below, in the past, more Torah scrolls and wood paneling were used, carved wood paneling, velvet and embroidery wood paneling,
Today, 92.5 silver or gold plating is used more with a combination of specially colored and brilliant Swarovski stones.

As we know, silver blackens over time, especially with the touch of the people in the synagogue, for this purpose all the torah scroll case we make are coated with a very thin transparent material that prevents the blackening of the silver.
